Camp Richardson is a cozy place off Highway 89. This historic year-round resort secluded in old-growth forest on 125acres adjacent to Lake Tahoe’s longest stretch of sandy beach. it has 26 hotel rooms, 7 motel rooms, 43 cabins (19 year-round), the 7 bedroom Richardson House, 100 RV sites and 200 tent campsites. It also has a General Store & Café, the Beacon Bar & Grill (lakeside restaurant), Mountain Sports Center, Ice Cream Parlor and Coffee Shop.

We went this April, and got their Winter 2015 Package/Specials – Tahoe Cabin Getaway, for $299 we get 2 nights in a year-round cabin of our choice + a $75 Beacon Bar & Grill Gift Certificate, (Tax Included)… Hmmm !!! Great deal!!!

The cabins are rustic on the outside and well-furnished in the inside (no television) and actually very comfortable.. Outside, there’s grill and a picnic table, relax while smelling the sweet smell of pines and feel the breeze whistling through the trees.

We stayed at the Fleetwood cabin (can sleep 8-9 people). The lake is steps away from where you are staying. Our cabin has 2 bedrooms, the first bedroom has 2 full size bed, 2nd bedroom has a queen bed and a twin bed. Linens are white and crisp, love it. It has a cozy living room with a sofa sleeper, and a fire place. The view of the lake from the dining area window is really awesome. Kitchen has full size fridge, stove/oven, microwave, coffeemaker, cooking pots, plates and utensils.

2nd room – 2 full beds

Now let me describe the toilet and the bathroom. On a positive note, the towels are very clean, fluffy and white. Only 2 pieces of soap was given, but I don’t mind, I bring my own toiletries. The shower and the toilet area are very tiny. Each area almost measures around 32 inches in length and 32 inches in width. A normal size adult cannot turn around inside it, much more to bend on your toes. It feels discriminating, because I a chubby and I am not comfortable inside the shower area nor in the toilet throne. If only they could make the bigger the cabin could have been a 5 stars for me.

Maybe they need to need to build a common shower and restrooms outside, with digital lock only for guest use, because if a cabin for 6-8 person is occupied and it has only 1 shower and restroom that will be huge problem, especially when with kids.

Front desk employees are nice. We had a good time and we will be back soon.
