Last night’s Supermoon was spectacular. My husband and I set up our cameras and tripods in a place where we can have a good shot of the moonrise and weren’t disappointed. The moon showed up around 5:40pm.

Supermoon November 14, 2016
Perigee is the point at which the moon is at its closest point to Earth. A Supermoon is a full moon in perigee. According to National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA), this supermoon will be especially “super” because it’s the closest full moon to Earth since 1948 and people won’t see another supermoon like this until November 26, 2034. A supermoon or perigee full moon can be as much as 14% bigger than an apogee full moon. There will be three Supermoons before the end of 2016!
If you miss this Supermoon, there will be another one December 14, but it will not be as big as the November event. Videos and pictures are not the same as seeing it personally. Go outside with your kids, don’t throw that experience away.
